You should be aware of some changes from version 1.x and 2.x which you must plan for before you upgrade your installed version of JMailQ. As always you should test the upgrade on a sandbox installation.


First, you must be running Joomla 4.2 or above


Secondly, if you are going to be running spam check on your emails you must have the Pear Mail and Mail_mimeDecode packages installed on your web server. Spam check needs the mail_mime class. You may also need to update the php path with the location of the PEAR/Mime package. This must be done in the delivery and/or SpamCheck scripts. Details on doing this are included in the sample scripts.If the path to tese are not included in your php path you can configure the path in the SpamAssasin Options.


Attachments are now stored in a directory (configurable) on the web server. Using the database became problematic with large attachments.
